A password reset link can only be sent if you haven't signed in for 4 days GMAIL is useless option

I always use different passwords for each websites and I get confused or forget most of the times. Earlier Gmail used to send the reset link to the other registered email but now this option called "A password reset link can only be sent if you haven't signed in for 4 days." is killing me.

I access Gmail regularly with my Android mobile and gmail consider this like a Signin activity.

This is a mistake. They should ignore mobile email sync activity and consider only browser signin activity if they really want to keep this 4 days signed option for recovery.
